One of the main reasons text messages became so popular in the Philippines is the affordability. In addition, text messaging was generally more reliable compared to a fixed phone line or relying on poor mobile phone coverage that included drop-outs.
As a matter of fact, even here in Batangas, it is very uncommon for a person to have no cellphones. As I walk around the streets, I can see people texting...even a 7 year old kid.

In these days mobile users are increasing day by day. If we see it as a critics, through messages we have some benefits and mostly people use it wrongly so text messages are increasing the vocabulary of the readers. It is my point of view.
