We became familiar with this thing when it featured us some "Satelite Photos" of the President Barack Obama Inauguration Day on January 20, 2008. Yup yup yup! That satellite is one of the greatest imaging satellite I've know. But wait, let's stop calling it just a satellite because it has its name! Yes, of course! Hehehe. It is called the GeoEye-1, and if you're looking for some information about that satellite, Wikipedia will give you the answer. But aside from Wikipedia, I'm here also to introduce you this great machine.

Here are some so-called "Satelite Photos" of the President Barack Obama Inauguration Day on January 20, 2008. (Click here to watch Barack Obama Inauguration Speech Video replay online.) These people are really like ants! Whew! This is so great! This is produced by GeoEye-1. What is it?

GeoEye-1, the satellite that will supply Google with high-resolution imagery of the Earth, took a high-resolution photograph of the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

The satellite is expected to start producing data for Google in coming weeks, but in the meantime, this shot shows a bit more tantalizing detail about what will show in Google Earth and Google Maps. It was taken from 423 miles up as the 4,300-pound satellite traveled 17,000 miles per hour.

Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra or HKCO is now showing-off their own version of "Eroica". As seen on Youtube, the first version of "Eroica" was composed by Tan Dun, and was performed by LSO or London Symphony Orchestra! If you haven't watch it yet, watch it here.

Now, HKCO is playing the Chinese music version of the said Tan Dun's "Eroica", re-arranged by Chew Hee-chiat (Associate Conductor, HKCO) and performed by 85-member HKCO under the baton of Yan Huichang (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, HKCO). Watch the video.

The presidential inauguration is the official day that the President of the United States is sworn into office. The purpose of this inauguration? To honor the incoming president with formal ceremonies, including these three events:

1. Presidential Swearing-in Ceremony,
2. an Inaugural Address and,
3. an Inaugural Parade.

It will take place this coming Tuesday, January 20, 2009, in Washington D.C. on the steps of the United States Capitol. At this day, President-elect Barack Obama will take the oath of office.

A series of pre-inaugural parties has been organized to build momentum to the main event; one of them, to be held on January 18 at the Grand Hyatt Washington Hotel, will feature our very own teenage Pinay singing sensation Charice Pempengco! Yes! That's right! Charice Pempengco will performs in Barack Obama's Presidential Inauguration! Whew!

Keeling Curve Data For CO2 Definiton - The Keeling Curve is a data graph that shows the variation in concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) since the year 1958. This is based on continuous measurements taken at an observatory named Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii. That obserbatory is under the supervision of a man who is Charles David Keeling. Keeling's measurements showed the first significant evidence of rapidly increasing carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere. Lots of scientists credit Keeling's graph with first bringing the world's attention to the effects that human activity were having on the Earth's atmosphere and climate.

Myringotomy Tubes Placement, Insertion Procedure, Complication and Video

Below is a video about myringotomy tubes placement procedure and insertion. What is that?

Ehem! Myringotomy tubes are small tubes that are inserted into your child's eardrum by an ear, nose and throat surgeon, surgically. Following the right procedure, the tubes placement helps drain the fluid out of the middle ear in order to reduce the risk of ear infections. During an ear infection, fluid are gathered in the middle ear, this may affect the hearing of your child. Sometimes, even after the complication is gone, some fluid may remain inside the ear. The myringotomy tubes help drain this fluid and prevent it from building up there. From 1 to 3 years old are the most common ages. By the age of 5 years, most children have wider and longer Eustachian tubes (a canal that links the middle ear with the throat area), thus, allowing better drainage of fluids from the ear.

So, how are ear tubes inserted?

Myringotomy is the surgical procedure that is performed to insert ear tubes. Insertion of the tubes is usually an outpatient procedure. This means that your child will have surgery, and then go home that same day. Before the surgery, you will meet with different members of the healthcare team who will be involved in your child's care. These may include:

* nurses - day surgery nurses prepare your child for surgery. Operating room nurses assist the physicians during surgery. Recovery room (also called the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) nurses care for your child as he/she emerges from general anesthesia.

* surgeon - a physician who specializes in the placement of the tubes.

* anesthesiologist - a medical physician with specialized training in anesthesia. He/she will perform a history and physical examination and formulate a plan of anesthesia for your child. The plan will be discussed with you and your questions will be answered. Insertion of myringotomy tubes requires general anesthesia in children.
