AMA Announcements - Batch 2008

1. L1 Support Analyst

Main Function
This role involves providing level 1 support around application batches and server-side applications / solutions

Main Duties
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
* application batch monitoring
* rerun / restart batches, where necessary
* diagnose / troubleshoot issues
* escalate issues to Level 2 Support
* raise incident tickets & track all the incidents through bank’s standard incident and problem management tool(s)
* produce various report around batch performance and server-side resource utilization

Person Requirements
Experience Required:
· At least 2-3 years' experience supporting applications in a global environment
· Familiarity with ITIL concepts and best practices

Skills / Aptitude Required:
* Strong spoken & written communication skills
* Ability to understand the business context and respond to users is more important over the in-depth technology skills
* Ability to work under pressure and continue to support users and applications
* Service oriented and able to follow the processes in delivering the KPIs
* Able to follow through on all issues raised by clients in a timely manner
* Able to interact and communicate with staff at all levels
* Depending on the service area, additional knowledge of a product would be required
* Good team player

Working Hours
This role involves working in a shift rota. Usually the shift changes every 4 weeks.

Technologies
As part of the support team, technical skills expected are for trouble shooting and performing minor fixes. The candidate is expected to have experience in at least one database, programming language and operating system knowledge/experience.

Programming Languages
* C# & .NET, Java, Scripting (PERL), C++, VB, VB Script / Excel Macro, HTML/DHTML/CSS

Databases
* Oracle, MS SQL, SYBASE

Messaging & Tools
* Autosys,SQL Loader,Humming Bird,Version Control Tool (Perforce / ClearCase)

2. L2 Support Analyst
Main Function
This role involves providing level 2 support that involves investigating & trouble shooting issues, providing workarounds, suggesting improvements or solutions to permanently addressing the issue and liaising with the development teams to come up with a permanent fix.

The Level 2 support role also involves training and helping the Level 1 support.

Main Duties
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
* Work closely with Level 1 support resources
* Provide immediate workaround for all outstanding issues
* Interface with development teams for problems that require permanent fix and provide suggestions / solutions, where feasible
* Adhere to the established processes around ITIL
* Undertake Incident and Problem management as part of the regular work
* Execute / Participate in the Capacity, Release, Change and Configuration management activities
* Participate in the BCM test activities
* help the team leads in producing management reports
* actively identify efficiency improvement opportunities and work on service improvement plans
* Train, guide and mentor new hires in the team
* Work with global business IT & projects teams to ensure seamless support for the business

Person Requirements

* At least 3-5 years' experience supporting applications in a global environment
* Experience with ITIL concepts and best practices

Skills / Aptitude Required:
* Strong spoken & written communication skills
* Ability to understand the business context and respond to users is more important over the in-depth technology skills
* Ability to work under pressure and continue to support users and applications
* Process oriented and able to follow through on all issues raised by clients in a timely manner
* Able to interact and communicate with staff at all levels
* Basic understanding of the investment banking business advantageous
* Depending on the service area, additional knowledge of a product would be desirable
* Strong basic technical skills with demonstrated ability to learn will be required in order to identify the trouble spots and suggest potential fixes
* Good team player
